Minna Ora – Forest
Music: Minna Ora
Lyrics: Minna Ora & Tuulia Vihanto
Arrangement: Minna Ora & Karl Sinkkonen
Video production: Jarkko Korhonen
Lyrics:
The sky alight with a crimson fire
Streams defying the cold’s desire
while trees give in to the golden strokes of the fall
The tears of the earth flowing so silent and calm
Fairies turn to follow me
I’m approaching you so discreet
The wind speaks no word and I whisper how beautiful you are
In your frost-bitten hair I see glimmering white stars
I feel it madly – the splendid beauty your soul is to me
My fragile love’s yours to keep
My soul alight with a crimson fire
Blood defying the cold’s desire
A moment by your side to me is an eternity
Your eyes speak to me saying I am your infinity
I feel it madly – the splendid beauty your soul is to me
My fragile heart’s yours to keep
My heart alight with a crimson fire
Beating on – still not tired
The forest surrenders to the fall – the colors fade
You don’t say a word and the flow of your tears escalates
I feel it madly – the splendid beauty your soul is to me
My fragile heart’s yours to keep (to keep)
I feel profoundly the strength and beauty of your soul right here
My fragile love’s yours to keep
To keep
My soul alight with a crimson fire
Blood defying the cold’s desire
A moment by your side to me is an eternity
About Minna Ora
Acoustic folk metal meets indie in Minna Ora’s debut single.
Living in Pertteli, in Southern Finland, Minna Ora is celebrating 35 years as an artist in 2020. Her music career also includes gigs on the national level with bandmates of her own, as well as with Remu Aaltonen and Veeti Kallio, among other well- established names in the Finnish music scene. “My solo album is shaped by spirituality, challenging life experiences, and the powerful beauty of nature, along with influences from Kate Bush, Evanescence, and Within Temptation,” Minna says.
Taken from the upcoming debut solo album, the first radio single, “Forest,” and its Finnish counterpart, “Metsä,” has a mystifyingly beautiful sound as indie and folk metal. The magnificent music video featuring scenery of Finnish forests and lakes deepens the spiritual and empowering quality of the song. This connection with Mother Nature through music is especially valuable during this time when millions of people in the world are confined inside concrete buildings. With her impassioned singing voice and the touching imagery in the lyrics and video, the skillful singer/songwriter Minna Ora has created an empowering experience for the listener.
